Mitigated emissions for your e-commerce shipping orders

We are very pleased to offer our online store customers the opportunity to mitigate the emissions generated by shipping! The emissions’ mitigation option for the shipping has been available on our store since 2020, and starting from November 2021, we have been offering it on all orders at no additional cost. We mitigate the shipping emissions through EthioTrees, a Plan Vivo certified reforestation project that supports local communities in Ethiopia.

At Davines Group, we measure all our emissions and strive to reduce them as much as possible. Since 2018, we started mitigating part of the emissions through EthioTrees.

In 2024, Davines Group launched its ambitious 2030 environmental sustainability program “Davines Group Towards Planet Regeneration”. Regarding decarbonization, by 2030 the Group will reduce greenhouse gas emissions per kg of bulk product by 55% compared to 2022. In addition, 100% of the energy requirements of the offices and production facility in Parma will be self generated from renewable sources at Davines Group Village. Beyond decarbonisation, our near-term 2030 environmental goals include the reduction of our impact on water , biodiversity and circularity.

Our online store also contributes mitigating the shipping emissions of all orders within the county.

How does shipping emissions mitigation work?

We partner with EcoCart to calculate the CO2 emissions generated by the shipping of each order.

The option is automatically applied to all transactions, at no additional cost to the customer.

Which Projects Do You Support with the shipping emissions’ mitigation?

A portion of the cost goes to EcoCart, which calculates the emissions associated with shipping. The other part is used to further support the EthioTrees reforestation.

The northern Ethiopian highlands, where the project operates, are at constant risk of desertification. This vulnerable area is a critical focus for efforts to regenerate the environment and support the local community.

Our partnership with EthioTrees helps plant native tree and shrub species, build terraces and water basins to channel water, and combat erosion and desertification.
