Animal Well-Being

OUR VALUES

The Davines Group has always been committed to making the highest quality products that meet high ethical standards. For this reason, in respect of its values, the Davines Group does not test its products, or the ingredients used in formulations on animals, nor does it delegate this type of testing to third parties.

As a result, in 2017, the Davines Group suspended the registration of new products in China to prevent animal testing by local authorities during registration, as required by law. At the same time, to avoid any future animal testing carried out by the local authorities, we started to look for alternative ways to sell our products in China and avoid any potential animal testing.

Only in 2021, the Group restarted the process of importing its products to China, following the introduction of the new Cosmetic Supervision and Administration Regulation (CSAR 2021, Decree No. 727 of the State Council), as it abolished the necessity of animal testing at registration stage for some categories. By current practice, the local authority does not include animal testing in the registration process of non-special use cosmetics packaged in China and meeting the Chinese safety standard, as our products already do. The Chinese authorities could require post-market animal testing of non-special use cosmetic products filled in China if there were any safety concerns. In this case, the company has the ability to recall the product from the market before any animal tests could happen. While we do not anticipate this being an issue for the Davines Group,we pledge that we will not, now, or ever, take the path of testing on animals

In the meantime, Davines Group is working to achieve Leaping Bunny approval for all our brands. The process will begin with Skin Regimen. The aim is to follow as soon as possible with Davines and Comfort Zone products.
